General Guidelines for Members

Approved July 14, 2004

  • Members and their guests using the club facilities should be considerate and respectful of other users and the staff.
  • Members are responsible for their family and guests and must accompany them during their visits to the club.
  • Persons may not be introduced as a guest more than three times in any one year.
  • Members are asked to respect the grounds of the facility by utilizing receptacles for garbage, recycling and cigarette butts.
  • Members and their guests are expected to respect the Beverage Service provided by the club.
  • Staff have the right to refuse liquor service to any person in apparent violation of the law and whenever a person is to the point of causing an embarrassment or danger to staff, other members or guests, or to those outside of the club's premises.
  • The responsibility for the operation of motor vehicles after consumption of alcoholic beverages lies with the individual member and that responsibility is not and will not be assumed by the Club.
  • Members bringing guests to the club are required by the Nova Scotia Liquor Licensing Board, to register their guests in the guest book located at the bar.
  • Members are responsible to ensure children are under their care while on the club's premises and do not negatively impact on the enjoyment of other members and their guests.
  • Members are asked to respect the requirements of our Smoking policy which indicates that there shall be no smoking inside the clubhouse, Learn To Sail Center or on the docks.
  • Shirts and footwear are to be worn at all times inside the clubhouse.
  • No dogs shall be permitted in the clubhouse or on the deck, and members are responsible to ensure dogs are on a leash, as well as for proper collection and disposal of dog waste.
  • Furnishings, equipment, pictures, trophies, etc. are not to be removed from the premises without permission of the House Manager.
